The TEIC Programme is open to native English speakers from any country. If you are not a native English speaker, but can speak English fluently, you can also apply. We have had Germans, Dutch, Swedes and Poles on the programme.
TEIC is a small, friendly and non-commercial programme, offering a more personal travel experience. We have been sending graduates to China for over 10 years and are based in the UK.
TEIC is run in conjunction with The China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) www.ceaie.edu.cn in Beijing and the International Exchange Centre in Hunan Province. Professor Phil Thomas is the independent UK recruitment specialist and retired university professor.
The programme runs from August / September to June. The Fall semester runs until early January with a mid semester break but no Christmas break. There is a four/five week paid holiday for the Chinese New Year, in January/February. This is when the teachers go travelling within China or outside the country. The Spring semester, with a mid semester break of a week, finishes at the end of June. There are also a number of public state holidays. Many teachers delay their return in order to enjoy a further period of travel and others stay to teach a second year or start careers in China.
